Do you want a college experience that will prepare you for the job market? One that offers a choice of liberal arts courses and a flexible curriculum while fostering both a broad-based knowledge in a variety of disciplines and in-depth study in one area?
The liberal studies major at Regis College takes an interdisciplinary approach to developing your critical thinking skills. You build your program by selecting from a variety of liberal arts courses (e.g., art, literature, communication, history, and much more). You also may choose to minor in any of these areas.
One outstanding feature of this major is the breadth of internship opportunities. Recent liberal studies students have interned with organizations and companies such as:
- Massachusetts state government
- Boston-area attorneys
- Local and regional newspapers, radio stations, and television stations
- Nationally-known advertising agencies
- Best-selling publishing houses
- Corporate headquarters for some of the nation's leading retailers
As a liberal studies graduate, you will be well-prepared for your next step in life. Graduate programs, particularly law schools, look for applicants with a broad liberal arts background. Businesses, meanwhile, seek candidates who are knowledgeable and can read, write, and analyze data.
Liberal studies graduates may go on to build a career in such fields as publishing, retail, television, journalism, public relations, education, and human resources.
