The history program strengthens the mission of Regis College by:
- Leading students to understand the needs and problems of our interactive global society
- Preparing them for leadership and service
- Providing them with a rich foundation for career opportunities
Today's historians are enjoying growing opportunities and demands to apply their skills outside the university and the classroom. Practicing historians are found in government offices, corporations, media firms, historical societies, museums, and foundations. They are working in such areas as oral history, historic preservation, and cultural resources management.
In addition, government service at the local, state, and national levels calls for skills that historians possess, such as applying research techniques, analyzing data, group problem solving and decision making, and communicating and disseminating information.
