Although globalization has led to the offshoring of software and related information technology (IT) services, competition for skilled information technologists is intensifying in the U.S.
At the Regis College Computer Science program, we are committed to instilling the skills and knowledge necessary for a successful IT career. Our gentle, individualized approach to education fosters the learning process. Meanwhile, our interdisciplinary curriculum prepares students for a variety of possible career paths.
As a computer science major at Regis College, you will:
- Study how computer systems are designed, developed, implemented, and evaluated.
- See how computer scientists solve interesting problems by designing software or by designing theories or models.
- Develop an understanding of the wide-ranging challenges of the field, from designing fast computers to understanding human speech.
- Learn how to visualize problems and design appealing, effective Web sites.
In addition, you will test your programming skills and build contacts in the world off campus by participating in the required internship experience. Recent computer science graduates work at Raytheon, MIT Lincoln Labs, Tufts University Information Technology Services, Sallie Mae, Fidelity Investments, and Sopra Group.
